How Do One-Visit Crowns Work?

Dental crowns are a common dental treatment. However, traditional crowns can take two or more visits to complete. At Hooks Family Dentistry, we truly value your time and have invested in state-of-the-art CERECĀ® crowns to speed up the crown process. In just one appointment, you will leave our office with a new, custom-made crown!

How CEREC One-Visit Crowns Work

CEREC (Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics) is a revolutionary method for creating and placing dental crowns. With CEREC 3D imaging, we take digital impressions of your smile and design a precise 3D model of your new crown. One of the main differences between CEREC and traditional crowns is that CEREC crowns are created with an on-site milling unit. An on-site unit allows us to design and create your crown without having to use an off-site dental lab. After designing your crown, we use high-grade ceramic to fabricate your custom-designed crown and place it. Because we craft the crowns at our office, we are able to easily make adjustments to ensure that the crown fits perfectly.

Reasons You May Need a Same-Day Crown

Dental crowns are tooth-shaped ceramic caps that completely cover an existing tooth or attach to a dental implant using an abutment. Crowns are one of the most versatile treatments available and are a popular restorative option for many dental issues. They can be used to:

  • Cover Cracked or Chipped Teeth
  • Correct Severely Discolored or Misshapen Teeth
  • Replace Missing Teeth with Dental Implants
  • Support Teeth After Root Canal Therapy

Benefits of Same-Day Dental Crowns

Compared to traditional dental crowns, one-visit crowns offer many more benefits, including:

  • Digital Impressions
  • Fewer Dental Visits
  • Leaves More of the Natural Tooth Structure Intact
  • No Temporary Crowns
