How Root Canal Therapy Works
First, we thoroughly numb the area around the tooth. Then, Dr. Hooks will make a small hole in the crown of your tooth. He’ll use this as an entry point to gain access to the the diseased pulp inside of the tooth’s canals. Dr. Hooks will remove all of the damaged tissue from the inside of your root canals and thoroughly disinfect the area. Then, he’ll fill in the space left behind with a material called gutta percha and seal the opening on the top of the tooth. If needed, we’ll schedule a follow-up visit where we’ll place a dental crown over your tooth for additional strength and support.
